This guide will explain how you can add animals to a group in bulk by using our import data section on the web app.

When creating the file, please note this must be a csv file. Ensure you have the first row as headings, the mandatory heading is passport number for importing cattle, then you can have an array of information - use this guide for downloading template csv files: Custom import templates - Animal & Activity.

Watch the video on how to do this:

Or follow the step-by-step instructions:

1. Navigate towards the left hand side panel and you will find Import Data, click here.

2. Then select the Custom import.

3. In this example we are uploading animal information, this falls under the import cattle category. Click into Import cattle.

4. Select upload file and choose the specific file (remember the file must be a CSV. file type).

5. Press next to continue.

6. You know need to match your headings up with the ones in our system. You can press the match columns button which will match them up for you.

Note: This only works if our heading title is exactly the same as the one you're uploading.

7. Use the drop down options to select the relevant title for each column of data - you can use the 'Match columns' button to automatically select the headings.

Note: Titles marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory fields.

8. Once you are happy, select finish upload.

9. Once uploaded you should see this screen below. You can see the data you have uploaded in the animal's history timeline.

Note: Any errors will be shown in red:

E.g. if the passport number you have put down does not match any of the animal passports in your account.
