Connecting your weigh equipment to the Breedr app is easy. If you are using the Tru-Test S3 weigh head with an EID reader, we recommend to connect your EID reader first as the bluetooth from the weigh head can sometimes block the stick reader.

Please watch the video below on how to connect the XRS2 stick reader and S3 weigh head to the Breedr app.

Please see step by step screenshots on how to connect an EID stick reader and S3 weigh head

  1. On your android device navigate to your settings and turn on your bluetooth. Your device will be searching for the EID stick reader. Once the EID stick reader becomes available under your pair devices click on the stick reader.

Please note if this is the first time you are pairing your EID stick reader to your android device you will be asked for pair code. Please enter: 0000

2. Once you have your EID stick reader paired to your android device open the Breedr app. Select on the bluetooth icon which is situated at the top of the screen.

3. The EID stick reader will become available to connect to the Breedr app. Select on the white box to connect

4. The box will turn green and the status will change too connected. A blue light will be displayed on your EID stick reader to symbolise the bluetooth connection.

5. Turn on your S3 weigh head, the S3 will appear as not connected. Next tap on the white box

6. The box will turn green and the status will show as connected

Top Tips πŸ’‘

  • If connecting your EID stick reader for the first time you may be asked to enter a pair code this will be "0000"

  • On your EID stick reader make sure your bluetooth settings is set to Manual Mode: Settings > Bluetooth > Bluetooth > Manual

  • If your stick reader is new, you may want to check the settings of your EID reader to record EIDs without gaps. This is the "Decimal 2" setting and reads in numbers.
    Settings > Tag Reading > Tag Format > Options > Decimal 2

  • Make sure you are on the latest version of the app, go into the play store on your device and search Breedr Livestock to see if the app requires an update

  • If this is the first time you are connecting to the S3 it may prompt you to Pair, if so you can accept the request
