This guide will show you how to upload spreadsheets of your data to Breedr. If you're utilizing different software, you can export your data as an Excel spreadsheet and convert it to CSV format.

The Breedr web portal provides bulk uploads and the ability to download your animals, add activities, and view reports. Log in using the same username and password as the mobile app.

The fields marked with an asterisk are required, so when formatting your data, make sure you have columns with the primary animal ID number you use (which can be Visual ID). Animal breed is not marked with an asterisk but it is required for a successful upload.

  • *Animal ID = Animal ID number (this can also be the EID)

  • *Breed = Add your animal breed name here; i.e Black Angus

    Other information you can upload:

  • Electronic ID = If using EID add in this column

  • VID = Visible tag or colored tag

  • Sex = Male / Female

  • Is Castrated = Yes / No (determines if a steer or bull; for males only)

  • Is Birthed = Yes / No (determines if a heifer or a cow; for females only)

  • DOB = Date of birth

  • Date on Farm = Date the animal arrived on your farm

  • Group = Any specific internal group this animal is part of i.e, Young Calves / Steers for Sale, etc.

Follow these quick steps below, or view this guide for a video and in-depth steps.

  1. Once logged into the web portal, select 'Import Data' from the menu to the left.

  2. Click 'Custom Import' and then 'Import Cattle.'

  3. Click 'Upload file,' select the correct file and click 'Next.'

  4. Each column from your spreadsheet will match a drop-down menu. Match the fields you would like to upload.

  5. Match up the other column headings you would like to upload (Ex. Breed society Reg ID, Brucellosis ID, Embryo ID, date of birth).

  6. Click 'Finish upload.'

Now that your animals have been added to Breedr, you can match the animal ID number and add more information (for example, if you would like to add a Breed Society ID, you import a new spreadsheet, match the animal ID, and select 'Breed Society ID' from the drop-down menu.

See this guide to upload activities (including live weights). Breedr will recognize the animal ID and upload the activity to the corresponding animal.

Use this guide to learn howe to upload other types of activities.
