Steps to connect to iOS device to SRS2i

First turn on the EID stick reader, make sure your bluetooth is also turned on the device which you are trying to connect to.

  1. Go straight to the Breedr app and click on the bluetooth icon in the top right hand corner of the screen the EID stick reader should appear. If not click on the refresh button

  2. Tap on the SRS2i to connect, a bluetooth pairing request will pop up click on pair. A blue light will appear on the EID stick reader to symbolise the stick reader and device is connected.

Steps to connect to iOS device to SRS2i

First, turn on your EID stick reader.

1. Go to your bluetooth settings on your phone. Make sure the bluetooth is turned on and look for your SRS2i stick reader. It should show under 'Other devices' if you haven't connected them before.

2. A bluetooth pairing request will appear select Ok. it should now appear in the paired device section.

3. The stick reader should now appear in the paired device section.

4. Go to the Breedr app and select on the bluetooth icon situated at the top right hand corner of the screen. The SRS2i should appear- if it does not press the refresh button. Click on the stick reader and the box will turn green. A blue light will appear on the stick reader to show the devices are connected together.

**Please note in order for the stick reader to connect to the Breedr app you need to be on a bluetooth page on the app. This could be one of the following pages**:

  • Bluetooth page from the homepage

  • In crush mode

  • Quick Scan mode

  • Animal page


    Top Tips πŸ’‘

    • For the SRS2/SRS2i/ XRS2 EID stick reader make sure your bluetooth settings is set to Manual Mode: Settings > Bluetooth > Bluetooth > Manual

    • If connecting your EID stick reader for the first time you may be asked to enter a pair code this will be "0000"

    • If your stick reader is new, you may want to check the settings of your EID reader to record EIDs without gaps. This is the "Decimal 2" setting and reads in numbers.
      ​Settings > Tag Reading > Tag Format > Options > Decimal 2

    • Check advance settings in bluetooth are set to the following:

      Settings > Bluetooth > Advance > Connect Mode > Default > Output > Default

    • Make sure you are on the latest version of the app, go into the app store on your device and search Breedr Livestock to see if the app requires an update

    • Make sure other possible bluetooth devices are not switches on whilst trying to connect the stick reader to your phone as this will cause difficulties trying to pick up the bluetooth between the EID stick reader and the device.
